Newsflash! It's happening! Hidden Gems has been given the opportunity it has been waiting on. While although not a full fledged brick and mortar location, the inclusion in Dezires, a Ladies Boutique, owned and operated by Laura Johnson, is indeed just the thing we've been waiting on. FreedomInk will be alloted store space via two tall bookcases and we need your help. Katandra is in the midst of a fundraiser to gather monetary means to fill the shelves and operate alongside this new business partner. A point of sales machine, merchandise bags, bookmarks, business cards, funds to advertise. Along with monetary contributions, the CEO is also asking that Authors please send up to 2 autographed books to be included with Grand Opening inventory. Thanks in advance for all of your continued love & support. http://www.gofundme.com/hkmzao

Twelve-year-old CeeCee Honeycutt is in trouble. For years, she has been the caretaker of her psychotic mother, Camille-the tiara-toting, lipstick-smeared laughingstock of an entire town-a woman trapped in her long-ago moment of glory as the 1951 Vidalia Onion Queen. But when Camille is hit by a truck and killed, CeeCee is left to fend for herself. To the rescue comes her previously unknown great-aunt, Tootie Caldwell.
In her vintage Packard convertible, Tootie whisks CeeCee away to Savannah's perfumed world of prosperity and Southern eccentricity, a world that seems to be run entirely by women. From the exotic Miz Thelma Rae Goodpepper, who bathes in her backyard bathtub and uses garden slugs as her secret weapons, to Tootie's all- knowing housekeeper, Oletta Jones, to Violene Hobbs, who entertains a local police officer in her canary-yellow peignoir, the women of Gaston Street keep CeeCee entertained and enthralled for an entire summer.
Laugh-out-loud funny and deeply touching, Beth Hoffman's sparkling debut is, as Kristin Hannah says, "packed full of Southern charm, strong women, wacky humor, and good old-fashioned heart." It is a novel that explores the indomitable strengths of female friendship and gives us the story of a young girl who loses one mother and finds many others.
The paperback is available at Amazon for $13.33. Get the hardback with dust jacket from Hidden Gems for just $7.95.
As bestselling author Sigmund Brouwer began to hear more and more questions about creation from his growing daughters, he realized that the issue could easily turn them away from developing faith in God. Was he going to stand by and let them wrestle alone with widely asserted contradictions between science and Genesis, especially as they got older? Or could he prepare himself to help them understand more clearly the truth in the Bible's foundation?
In Who Made the Moon?, Brouwer engages the reader by combining easily understood science concepts with inspirational stories from a loving father's heart. He says, "I believe it's my responsibility to know enough about both the Bible and science to answer the difficult questions. I want to be able to show my children that truth is indivisible and that faith in the God of Genesis has nothing to fear from science."
For those of you who had no idea, Kat is a total Ted Dekker fan. Claim this book or the CEO of FreedomInk Publishing will be forced to add this title to her personal library! *Book is $13.66 at Amazon Prime.
Janeal has long felt trapped in her father's Gypsy culture. Then one night a powerful man named Salazar Sanso promises her the life she longs for--if she will help recover a vast sum of money tied to her father.
When the plan implodes, Sanso and his men attack the gypsy settlement and burn it to the ground. During the blaze, Janeal is faced with a staggering choice.
The impact of that moment changes her forever.
As her past rises from the ashes, Janeal faces a new life-or-death choice. And this time, escape is not an option.
Samantha Owens' estranged stepfather has died, leaving her his cottage in Nantucket—a place she fled years ago, never planning to return. As a single mom, Samantha can't afford to pass up a financial windfall like ocean-front property. So she travels home to fix up the house and sell it . . . never suspecting that Landon Reed still lives two doors down.
As their long-dormant romance begins to bud again, Samantha must face a past that separated her from the God of her childhood. And she must tell Landon why she fled the island in the first place—a secret that could tear them apart.
Is Landon’s love really as unconditional as he claims? And will Samantha finally realize that the God she found all those years ago never abandoned her?
A heart-tugging tale of shattered trust, growing faith, and love that endures . . . all in a romantic seaside setting.
Meridith Ward has crafted a carefully ordered life to make up for the chaos that plagued her childhood years. But one phone call upsets all that. Within the span of several minutes, Meredith learns that the father who abandoned her is dead and she's been named the sole guardian of his other three children. She nervously heads to Nantucket to care for the siblings she's never met with plans to stay until their uncle returns from his trip before relinquishing guardianship to him.
She arrives to find the children living in Summer House, a Bed & Breakfast that's falling apart around them. Meridith wants to move on as soon as possible, but the inn will never sell in its dilapidated condition. Then an itinerant handyman, Jake, shows up with an offer she can't refuse.
Much like the powerful ocean just a short walk from her deck, Jake appeals to Meridith. But she senses he is also capable of pulling her under in a heartbeat. What if the thing she fears the most is exactly what she needs? Can she trust God with the details and relish the adventure?
This book is a hardback. It is missing the dustjacket. My apologies. Still it's a great read and an awesome addition to any home library. The Amazon prime price for the hardback with dustjacket is $10. Hidden Gems offers the book here at FreedomInk for just $7.95. Shipping & handling (within the States) for this one is on the house. Enjoy & happy reading! ~Kat.
Bitch Is The New Black--
Meet Helena Andrews, sassy, single, smart, and, yes, a bitch—but Tina Fey said it best, bitch is the new black!
When Helena Andrews heard this declaration on Saturday Night Live, her first reaction was How daaare you? But after a commercial break and some thought, she decided to poke at the stereotype that says "successful" and "bitch" are synonyms. Unafraid and frank, she comes to realize that being a bitch is sometimes the best way to be—except, of course, when it's not.
Bitch Is the New Black follows Andrews—sexy, single, and a self-described smart-ass—on her trip from kidnapped daughter of a lesbian to Washington, D.C., political reporter who can't remember a single senator's name. Told in Andrews's singular voice, this addictive memoir explores the roller coaster of being educated and single while trying to become an "actual adult" and find love.
In these candid yet heartfelt essays, she chronicles that ride from beginning to end: a childhood spent on an all-white island, escaping via episodes of The Cosby Show; being set up with Obama's "body guy" Reggie Love by Maureen Dowd; and the shocking suicide of a best friend. Through it all, Andrews and her gang of girlfriends urge each other to "keep it moving." But no one can stay strong all the time—not even the women we believe do so without trying.
As Andrews says, "Despite the fact that the most recognizable woman in the United States is black, popular culture still hasn't moved past the only adjective apparently meant to describe us— "strong." She is also flawed, tired, naive, greedy, gutsy, frightened, and kind: secret sides that come out in honest detail here.
